Join Robyn Hood in Bitterroot, WY for the 20th Annual Starting Young Horses Training
June 15 -20 at Bitterroot Guest Ranch
You are invited to work personally with Robyn Hood while Starting Young Horses. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from Linda's sister, Robyn Hood, who has greatly helped Linda develop the Tellington TTouch for more than 25 years.
Held at Bitterroot Guest Ranch, nestled in the mountains on 1300 spectacular acres, this training offers a unique experience of working with untrained ranch-bred Arabians who will be integrated into the exceptional riding string for the ranch guests. Although the emphasis of this session is on starting the young horse, you will be able to apply this work to horses of all ages. This event has attracted all levels of horse people, from experienced competitors to new-comers to the horse world. You will work with horses that are appropriate, interesting, and safe for your experience.
In this hands-on training you will learn the five phases of TTEAM:
Tellington-TTouch, TTEAM Learning Exercises from the ground, their applications to riding, "visualizing your desired outcome" and "observing with new eyes". You will learn how the TTEAM approach emphasizes the development of trust and partnership between horse and rider. With TTEAM exercises, you will teach the young horse to lead through all of the exercises which comprise the "Playground for Higher Learning" with plastic, labyrinth, pick-up-sticks, and trotting poles. You will teach them to pick up their feet, stand quietly for grooming and saddling. The TTEAM techniques will enable you to learn a gentle, safe way to mount young horses. The horses, in turn, learn to accept a rider without bucking or fear. You will also have the opportunity to take an afternoon off and trail ride into the mountains, so bring your riding helmet.
